About Me
Welcome to John Pibworth Driving.
I am John, the owner of John Pibworth Driving, and wanted to give you a summary of who I am so that you are confident when you sign up for your driving lessons.
I qualified as an Approved Driving Instructor (ADI) in 2021. I trained with Mark Jordan Driving (based in Burton) and then ran a franchise through him until the end of February 2024, at which point I decided to become independent and set up my own driving school. Whilst with Mark I offered driving lessons in the areas of Hinckley, Nuneaton, Barwell and Earl Shilton – occasionally going further afield to Desford and Market Bosworth and I will continue to offer lessons in these areas as well as to the surrounding villages.
Before becoming a Driving Instructor I was a teacher – having taught in the primary, secondary and independent sectors. This has proven invaluable as a driving instructor as I am able to transfer key skills to enable my pupils to make good progress each lesson. I also have some experience as a SENDCo and am therefore able to adapt lessons accordingly to those pupils who may learn in a different way.
All of my reviews from pupils who passed with me, whilst I was with Mark Jordan, commented on how I remained calm with them at all times, how I was always looking to build skills and taught at a pace that was correct for each individual. I never shout during lessons as this only brings negativity, but always work together with my pupils so that through coaching and instruction they will become the safest, most competent drivers they can be both for the test as well as ongoing through life.
I offer lessons from 8am to 7.30pm Monday to Friday, and occasionally on Saturday mornings if required. I tend to teach 2 hour lessons as these give much more scope to really nail down different skills and develop learners more quickly. All of my pupils appreciate this, recognising that single hour lessons fall short of their expectations.
